Utah Ice

I know this is not a SW thing, but I was wondering if anyone has ever used this product? It is from Feller Stone, looks like a sheet of ice and is supposed to dissolve and raise the hardness in your water
Any comments about it or suggestions?

its ok in african tanks, but it falls apart quickly and can be a little messy.

What do you mean by messy, does it leave a residue or something?

no, it just breaks up into little pieces that sit on the bottom of the tank
