UV shielding

I began to wonder whether UV radiation is a factor in my problems with macroalgae being very pale under the MH lamp in my new tank. I found a link on this topic in the lighting forum:

and that forum links to an article by Dana Riddle about UV leakage from MH bulbs. I think it is an important article and wanted to draw your attention to it.

What brand of bulb is it?

An EVC 10,000, single end. Since it is a retro kit, there is no glass at all, just the reflector and the bulb.
