I have just purchased a UV steriliser for my tank (AA-Aquatics 9w internal UV to be placed within a 180l aquarium). However, I am wondering how often I should run it.
I understand that there may be some downsides in running it for long periods of time, such as the negative effect it may have on small organisms present within the tank that have been introduced via live rock, etc.
I was therefore wondering what experiences people have had with this piece of kit.
Do they run it for 24hrs/day, a limited period during or given day, or maybe only when disease rears it's head?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
