Valentini Puffer question

Looking at folk as a future addition to my tank. It looks pretty interesting.
I understand that, as other puffers, they need to chew on hard stuff to keep their teeth in order and clams, oysters are an option.
How often you do this?

Thanks!

It's not something you need to schedule, it's more of a steady supply you need. If you feed the occasional clam or mussel, the shell can remain in the tank until the next time you feed. Having a shell or two available should be enough. Another trick is to use empty snail shells, and stuff a bit of prepared food into them. The puffer will demolish the shell to get at the treat.

Thank you!..so you feed an entire half of a clam and leave it in the tank? I've read people pulling it out after a few hours to remove the meat leftovers.
Does he still goes after the empty clam shell?

Yeah, I've been looking at these guys too. I have the same questions on feeding. I've seem a lot on what to feed, but not so much on how,
