I have a new construction basement w/ stud walls and need to decide on if I should cover the walls w/ a plastic vapor barrior before I drywall. I will have around 6 - 8 hundred gallons of water in there.
There is a dedicated vent to the outside(300 cfm fan tied to a humidistat) and it has its own heat/air conditioning supply vent.
People in my area think that the vapor barrior will hold moisture and cause mold. I am now thinking they may be right. Moisture vapor passing through the concrete walls could condense and cause mold if trapped.
I am not in a searching mood, any thoughts.
