Var speed port missing and other issues

Hello all, I am all the sudden having issues with my Apex at home and I'm finding a bunch of outlets with changed programming and some that are ok. I'm trying to fix it remotely and now have lost variable speed port 1. Lots of weird stuff going on. I think the tank is safe for now but I need to try to get this fixed remotely. Any input? I'm considering loading my last configuration save and maybe deleting the EB8 modules first. I'm afraid that if I power cycle I will lose remote access even though I technically shouldn't. Come to think of it, I'm not even sure how I can do a remote power cycle. Does loading a save config file auto reboot?

Anyway, I work 45 minutes away from home so a quick drive there and back would be tough. Might be able to limp along until I get home tonight though. Just looking for some other thoughts since I'm stumped as to what's going on.

TIA

What does your controller show for last power fail? It sounds like it may have already rebooted and has reloaded the default configuration OR has added an additional EB8.

If you've got port 23 open, you can telnet into the controller and issue the command "reboot". That will restart it remotely.

Reloading the program won't actually reboot the controller. It will just start executing the reloaded code. I wouldn't start deleting modules quite yet. Just try to restart the controller if you can and see if that fixes it.

Last power failure was Dec 13th. All good there.

I used telnet to reboot. Now, all the EB8 and EB4 outlets are missing and var speed ports 1 and 2 are now gone. The EB8 and EB4 show up in the Modules section though. Something is very wrong here! Help!

Ok, I loaded all variables from my last save and things are looking better. Unfortunately, I made quite a few changes since then. One of these days I'll learn to backup more often! Wish me luck.

Are you fairly current on your firmware? If not, you might consider that once you have everything restored, stable and backed up.

Firmware is 4.04_BC10 which I believe is the most current. Honestly, I've never had any problems whatsoever with the Apex until I upgraded the firmware a few weeks ago. I only updated because I put a WXM online to run my Vortechs. I trust the Apex so much that I decided to depend on it more. I'm sorta second guessing that decision now. Hopefully it's just crazy flukes lately. Really dislike being a naysayer but there sure seems to be a lot of freaky issues with these things latley.

Thanks for the help!
