Just came in the mail right now. No barb connection on the pump rather than tubes. How should I hook this up?

Are there threads on the inside of those inlet/outlets?

None just a smooth surface. Could I put hose on top and run it up to the outlet pipe? Or will I have problems with spills?

Joey, are you sure they arent thread protectors on the outlet and suction? Did you try twisting them off?

Jeff

Are they hard plastic? Looks like they have a lip - like you could slide a hose over them and then tighten down a hose clamp to seal it.

I had to use one of these once. They are slip fittings for 3/4" tubing. You will have to rig it. Good luck, a lot of extra work!

Its hard plastic, but ok maybe the tubbing can work with the hose clamp then get an insert fitting to run it to the pvc. Well I'm heading out to Home Depot to see what they have ... Thanks for the ideas:D

you need to get some flexable PVC and a hose clamp! Just to let you know that pump puts ALOT of heat into your tank. I had a 90 gallon tank and it raised my temp 4 degrees. I took it off and it dropped it also tends to have a lot of calcium build up on the titanium impeller. Just my 2 cents

Heat is not much of a concern. I've noticed the MH's bring up the heat to 78-79F and then over night the temp drops to 75-76F. I dont know if its the glass or whatever it is I know it helps keep the temp steady. I dont use my heaters because they wont turn on anyways. I'm doing a T5 retro on my canopy right now that way less heat builds from the lights. The pump should throw in that extra heat. I guess it all should work out. When all fails save up for that chiller:D
