Velvet!

I got a bicolor blenny from a fellow reefer and placed it in my nano, didn't quarantine since I trusted his word. Turns out it has velvet and all fish have been removed from the nano. How long do I run the system without fish? I've searched and heard different times ranging from 4-8 weeks. How easily can velvet cross contaminate also? I have a 75 gallon reef.

6 weeks fallow for velvet. I would be very careful about cross-contamination. There is a study that showed that dinospores can be spread from tank to tank via aerosol transmission. One of the mods on this forum (billsreef) has observed it happening in a lab environment.
