Mark, I'm lazy too! Now I have my own RO/DI and make the kids do it :D

Ken, are your kids really into the tank?

Watch out...I've seen copper tubing running to those machines. Never tested them myself but that was enough to scare me away from using them.

Most houses are copper plumbing. It's what you do after that counts. Most of the vending machines are, and do exactly what they say, as long as they are maintained.

Mark, yes my kids are really into the tank but mom won't let them do the water tests!

I tried to get all three of my kids into the tank. They wouldn't do it so I kicked'em all out.

Most new houses now have polyethylene(thermoplastic) for plumbing.
NO copper or cast iron anymore, nice.

You can test your water at LFS in La Habra. it's La Habra blvd and East of Idaho St. They also have Catalina water. I've used vending machine water for a 2years never had a problem but, mixing sux too much work!! I started to just by Catalina water and do water change. RO only gets about 5gal a day that's slow and waste alot of water during filteration. Not recommeded.

There is a chain of vending machines in the shape of a windmill...they go by Windmill Express. I have seen the inside of the shed, and they have high end filters with large booster pumps. I used them for years before investing in my own RODI. Their TDS was usually 5-10, they dont use DI which would bring the TDS to zero. They maintain their systems, everything is monitored by a computer which lets the guys know when to replace the various filters.

Really?? man, I hate copper, its about time! I thought the plummers' unions had a pretty tight hold on the industry, when did this start happening?
