Venting /Deflating gBTA

hey guys,

What is the upper limit dKH that BTA can tollorate?

Current parameters are :

0 ammonia, nitrite, Nitrate, Phos
480 Ca
dkH 13
1320 Mg
PH 8.2
Temp 77-78
55 gallon sps
Knop C reactor
Lights 4X65w PC (changing soon to T5)
Remora pro mag3

The BTA has been deflated with gaping mouth for the past week and has not perked up. Is this a water chem problem?

Ok ,

I think I have found the culprit; it was the Salinity & it was way up around 1.03! I brought down to 1.02 and the bta has perked and is happy again.
I have recently upgraded from kalkwasser/top off to calcium reactor, and have forgotten about evaporation.

What top off methods would you guys suggest since I am not dosing kalkwasser anymore?

Would adding raw RO water be fine, or do I need to buffer it up before adding?

In my 55g i just add RO water straight up and sometimes ill put my 2 part in it before topping off
