Ventralis Anthia

Hey my local LFS got in a small female yesterday (1.5 to 2 inches max). I know they are deep water, live caves, peacefull tank mates, and cooler water. My 45 gallon is a full reef tank with 5xT5 lighting with peaceful tank mates:

2 mandarins
2 picasso clowns (no aggression at all from these two)
1 gold assesor basset
1 cleaner goby
1 sunburst anthia

I am worried that the sunburst would be a problem, also this tank is being upgraded to a 57g in July. I am considering it but not sure. I am also going away on vacation next week so even if I wanted to get it, it would be at least 2-3 weeks before I could get it.

I've almost bought a few of these beautiful fish on a few occasions. I'm not afraid of difficult fish; but everything I heard & read about them made me say no. Not only do they have to acclimate to the warmer water, but also the intense lighting of reef tanks. They are easily bullied and very picky feeders. According to Scott Michael; they often ship well, but seldom last long. BTW, your Percs may be fine now, but if they have formed a bonded pair, will very likely be very aggressive toward any newcomer; more so in a smaller tank like yours.

Thank you for the reply, we will see how he does at the fish store over the next 2 weeks (if she is still there) and see how that shapes my decision.
