I went in to my LFS this past weekend and found one of these guys just hanging out. He was wild caught, and just came in, and had a terrible case of ICH. I know that they are a more difficult fish to maintain, and I knew that I could give it a better home than most people who may have seen it. My point is, are there any tips ANYONE can give me as to getting the poor guy to eat? Being wild caught and already having ICH, I don't feel as though my chances are high, but I have to try.

The thing that helps me is trying some fresh clams or mussels from your local supermarket. If that don't work, you may have to try some live Brine Shrimp. A little bit of Garlic may help to entice him to eat. I also heard good things on the New Life Spectrum "Finicky Fish" pellets. Don't have any experience with those.

If he is thin and under weight I would leave him at the LFS. Otherwise if only at a great price buy him and start him right off with a dip and then TTM

He is super fat, and he's in hypo now. I paid 65, and he's a solid three inches. My concern is the food. He's out and active with everyone, I'm just afraid he won't eat. I've tried nori, mysis, brine, NLS pellets and flakes. I'm praying it's just one of those he will eat with time things. Thoughts and suggestions??

Have had a couple. Both ate live brine. Cannot get nutramar ova anymore, maybe try the LRS fish eggs?

I've kept a few and am currently looking for a new one. Nori was my best friend until they started feeding on frozen food. Formula 1 was often picked at if I left it intact, rather than breaking it up into smaller pieces. Mysis shrimp was occasionally taken, but was rare. They prefer to graze on live rock instead of catching food in the water column.

Best of luck with it!

If he is fat and healthy means he was eating at the LFS, so did you ask them what they were feeding him? He might not eat due to the stress of ICH. As mentioned above, I would do a Formalin dip out the bag and straight into TTM.

+1 in addition you could try wild caught little neck clams or live mussels. Chefzilla or LRF would probably do the trick too
