Version Prior to 9002 Nano Skimmer?

Did the current 9002 Nano Skimmer have an earlier version? If so what was the model number? What were the changes/improvements between the two?

The original was the 3110, it came out in 1995 I believe and used an AquaBee pump. It was replaced by the 3110/2 in 2000 and that used a different pump, 0210.040. This was replaced by the 9002 in 2004 which used a more powerful pump 0800.040, in 2009 we changed to magnet holders and the silence pump but the model number stayed the same.

Ok, so black vs brown is an important distinguishing feature to determine the age of the unit. What is the "silence pump" in the 2009 version?

And one more question about this silence pump: can u control / vary the water flow?

I didnt know tunze ever made a brown skimmer.

The water flow is fixed, the old 9002 pump you can see on our site 0800.040, the new one is also there 1073.008

Do u mean the water flow is fixed in both pumps (the old one and the new one)? (I have the old one im afraid)

Yes, for both it is not adjustable, only the air flow is adjustable.

What is the pumping capacity of the 0210.040 and the 0800.040? Can the older brown box be upgraded to the 0800.040 if necessary?

It looks like on the Tunze website that 0210.040 is still available if necessary?

Yes, 0210.040 is still available, but very limited, we have 4 left for the US. 0800.040 won't fit, the 0210 did 265gph, the 0800 does 280.
