Vertex Illumina Club

Just an update I got from Vertex requesting new info on other colors and the Cerebra:

"thanks for your contact never a bother. We have been working on some new colors but have nothing conclusive yet for release. Cerebra I have no update on but we are still working away.

regards,

Raymond"

blah vertex :P we want violet and red....just give it to us :)

im about to add a fiji pink t5 to my light, or make a DIY violet /red LED mix

dont get me wrong i like the illumina and tell everyone its awesome, but come one how long does it take to release a product. im a Project manager and would lose my job if i worked at this rate

I posted this identical question on the Light Studio thread, so I apologize in advance to those who follow both threads. I'm not trying to bore you, I'm looking for a wider audience.
I finally installed my desktop software and I have a question already. I can't tell if I'm using the latest version because the user manual shows the Special Settings page to have a "Fast Motion" button; however, my software has a "Light Preview" button. Since I'm still learning the software I can't tell if the functions are identical because it doesn't look like I am getting a 3 minute condensed program review. Any ideas?

what color combos are you guys using at your peak viewing period and for how long.

Im trying 100% on all for 7hrs to see what effect that has. its nice and bright to look at

Actually it is not as blue as I want. I am thinking to add two LED strips with blue, red and uv to supplement it, but it seems that no one manufacture this - unless diy.

My fixture is the first generation, that may explain it is not as blue as the new ones.

Rodney i was wondering if you could send me your light schedule your sps seem to be doin well, how deep is your tank?are you still running it 7" above water
if you could send your light schedule that would be great smitty7@sympatico.ca

Thanks, I got it it. Do you not find the whites are to bright? Im having issues with my sps right now, Im thinking to much light. All my water params seem to be on.
Alk 8
Mag 1300
Ca 430
Ph 7.9 - 8.1
Using DD salt 20% water change every week, EV240 Protein skimmer, 4 koralia 4s 1200 gpg mag drive return pump temp 78.5

I must be missing something else only thinkg I could think of was the light, my montis seem to be the most affected. MAybe my light period is to long to intense? Im not sure , im almost kinda of lost on what to do.

I will take some pics, I have red cyano now to mosty on bottom, but also on corals that have "died" or bleached.

I had a superman monti and a peach monti died in 2 days, got a sunset monti and a rainbow monti put them on bottom of tank and have been good for a week.

I had a nice emerlad green encrusting sps was doing so well and its dying off, Ive got a green Mili that started losing tissue but has since stopped and strted to come back.

I also put a grounding probe in my tank, I also forgot to mention I am using carbon and gfo phosphate remover in a next reef MR1 Monster.

Tanks is 190 Gallon with 60 Gallon sump, Had a favia even die. I just keep wanting not to blame the light, but I think its the light?

My Monti plates are growing really fast with the illumina, its the first one not the 260. What I found is half power is plenty for white and 60 for both blues. I've been using for several months now and only just built up to that level.
I can post pics if anyone wants?
