Vertex Illumina Club

sorry I'm new to this i don't want to sound dumb but what is the difference between the illumina 260 and illumina 360 bulk reef is having a sale on this lights and don't want to miss out

From what Vertex has said, the 360 consumes 15% more energy and produces 40% more light. I guess it's really focused at the deeper tanks.

If you're interested, I'm selling my 1200mm (48") SR-260 plus the v-stick and 6 multicolor modules (I need a longer one). Let me know if you're interested!

US Prices

US Prices

I've just seen the prices at BRS and compared them with th UK.:uhoh3:

I think the UK prices are in need of an adjustment. The multicolour (multicolor) modules are $129.99 at BRS or £149.99 mail order over here. That's about double the cost - $129.99 is about £80 :angryfire:

Since the kit is almost certainly made in China and I'd guess any mains power issues (110v / 240v) is dealt with by the power supply / transformer I'm tempted to buy some when I'm in the USA next, or have a relative post them to me.

Does anybody know if the specs are the same? Or has tried a US module in a UK fitting?

Mark

Yes the transformer is 110 /240v and shipito.com is how I got mine sent to Australia.

BRS recently dropped their prices significantly - they used to be about $190. I believe all of the modules are exchangeable (US vs European) except the power supplies.

I have recently added a couple of multicolour modules to my 260.
I have attempted to update the V-stick firmware but now the stick will not detect or communicate with the light.
Any ideas?
Cheers

Hanging Kit or Mounting Bracket

Hanging Kit or Mounting Bracket

I have a 1 meter long tank and a 3ft, 360 Illumina to go over it and I am wondering what type of mounting for the Illumina.
My ceiling is too high for the wire hanging kit (unless I lengthen the wire somehow) and the Vertex mounting bracket looks as though it is mounts the light REALLY close to the tank. My tank is a rimless with no top on it.
Any suggestions.

I also complained about their mounting brackets are being too low when mounted and is actually lower than what they recommend on their user guide!

I am still using the mounting brackets but have added two Reefbrites, one on the front and one at the back as the light spread is not enough with the Vertex alone.

Now here is my full tank shot after using the Vertex Illumina for almost close to the four years mark:

Anyone have an awesome program they want to share?

Ive got mine over about 12'' over a 22'' deep tank..

Thanks!

Hi ,
I am new here, just set up a 120 gallon tank we purchased used, it came with a 4 ft vertex 200. I have the usb link but have no idea if the firmware was every updated. I do not seem to be able to get my custom changes to save it always reverts to the original program.
I doubt it since an older gentleman had it and he was not computer literate. I am wondering about updating it and possibly adding new led arrays to the fixture.
We have been out of the salt water hobby for many years and while the 200 may be dated its a huge step up from the twin 400 watt halides I had on my last tank.
thanks

Problem connecting Mac to the Vertex Illumina

Problem connecting Mac to the Vertex Illumina

Hi Folks,

Does anyone have an answer to the problem of connecting their Mac to the Vertex Illumina light?

The problems apparently began when Apple introduced the Mavericks OS.

Vertex Aquaristik attempted to provide a fix, but I have been unable to connect.

The V-Link wireless device isn't even recognized by the Mac.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Gary

Hey guys

I hope and assistance of you on this because I can not figure it out :(

I bought 2 new Multicolor pad today and when I install these to my lamp, then only the red diodes light

I have updated desktop application, Firmware is updated but still no light from UV, green or warm white :(

But what I think is very special is that if I try and program the lights on the screen that is light, so I manage and set up UV, green and warm white but not with desktop application :(

Does anyone have an answer to this problem?

I have a 20" deep rimless tank and I have hung my Vertex Illumina 360 from the ceiling above it.
Any suggestions on how high above the tank I should have the 360 ???
