Dont be confused by the holes that "look" like there is a fan there.
I have 2 Vertex Ilumina 360's; the 2 foot has two holes for fans but only one fan fitted at the LCD display end.
The three foot has three fan "holes" and only two fans. One fitted on each end.
My lights run at max 30° , with a ambient of about 35°
I have fans set to ON not AUTO

Im back! Ive been in and out of the SPS part of the hobby over the last few years and I just ordered a bunch of frags..

My light is still the same setup.. The 260 hanging over a 60 g tank that is 20'' deep and the light is about 12'' off the top of the water.. Currently I am running it at 50% for blue and royal, and 40% for white..

Any suggestions on the best setting for coral growth?

My lamp have 3 fans and to air innlet, after som troubleshooting a found a critical failure in the cabel to 2 fans.
The conection betwen the cabel and the contact to the fan's was broken.
Defekt from Fabrication, now alle 3 fan's are running in on mode. 👍

Why can't I find these anywhere?!

I'm looking for the SR260 3ft length but everybody is SOLD OUT!!! I'd go with the SR360 3ft or I'd even go for either model in a 4ft... there are 6footers out there but nothing in a 3 or 4ft. BRS said there is a new model coming out. The Vertexaquaristic website doesn't have anything about a new model... (I'm looking to mount them on my 48" 90gal.)

Thanks Notclear! I saw the ************ writeup about the 260, 320 and 360 and thought they were the latest model. I missed the one you linked to about the "Two" that is not being sold in the US yet. I'm just started curing 130 lbs of dry rock last week, so I am months away from going live with my new 90g. I'll keep my eyes peeled for news about the TWO. If it doesn't come to the states, I may look for a used SR260. I LOVE the programming features based on the BRS detailed review video I watched. The sunrise / sunset rolling across the tank looks awesome!

Ditto here. I'd appreciate any program shares as well. SPS seem to be getting good growth but not colouring up. Looking for a program to approximate a 15k light.

Also I watched a demo and they showed how the light can start left to right during sun rise and sun set. How do I make my light do that?

Hi,

It's the wave function you can find in expert mode. When working the graphs are of dotted lines.

Buts that's all I can add 'cos I can't get my illumina 260 to save any uploaded program's (it says they are saved, but they aren't)!

I guess I'm going to gave to do a reset, I hope you have more luck.

Oh and UK support of vertex has been missing for months now, so dont expect too much help from the manufacturer!

Mark. I have a couple of illumina 360's and they both had a similar problem with saving programs. One, I fixed by replacing the battery. From the factory these Illumina lights have a cheap ?!$&@ battery, and mine was doa from new. The second I fixed by re seating the ribbon between the display and the light. Again this was like this from new. I also had major problems with US support. It wasn't until I got BRS involved, that I got any satisfaction from US support.
From my experience these are great lights, let down by bad support.

Thanks for the tip. I've had the light a while now so the battery could be a likely suspect.

The support is awful, and the manual is incomprehensible but the lights are good.

But why does the software say the graphs are uploaded OK, when they plainly are not? Did someone in Austria go on a 'how to write user friendly software' course and then decide to do the exact opposite?

Premium product, substandard support!

Mark

I've had these lights a couple of years & love them. Haven't read this thread for a while. My question is- whats this battery you guys are talking about?

The battery holds all the information that you send to the light.
If you lose all your settings and program when the power goes off, your battery is dead.
The battery is about 25mm in diameter and you have to take the display end, cover off and then undo another 6 torx screws, on yet another cover behind that. Took me about half an hour to do it but I was going really slow. Fixed all my problems.
