Vertex... in the box

Just got a Vertex Omega 150 for my 75g.

I have it all assembled and running in the sump right now, but there is an extra part. It's a small gate valve with barbed ends. Obviously this is used to connect two pieces of soft tubing, but it is not mentioned in the parts list or the instructions. Anyone know where this is supposed to go, or if it's just an optional piece. If so...optionally placed where?

Probably optional. Seems like it would go between the silencer and the venturi to regulate airflow. It's not necessary and probably there just in case you have issues tuning. Some just don't understand tuning via the venturi. Other than BK and Vertex, I dont think any other skimmer has that option.
