I just discovered that my 3" Regal jumped out of the tank today and I found it dead and my 1.5" false perc (male) has gone missing????!!!??
I have no idea why. Feedback is much appreciated. They were fed 2x per day 4pm and 10pm (mysis, brine, marine flakes, pellets)

Tank parameters are :
Calcium 290ppm (low)
KH 26 (too high)
Alk 9.3
PO4 - 0.5
NO3 - 0
Salinity - 1.023
Temp 78
pH- 8.4

Livestock
1 serpent sea star (large)
1 emerald crab (med/large size)
1 small 6-line
1 small royal gramma
1 false perc (lost her mate)

Sorry for your loss,
Check your overflow for the perc. If he is not hosting they have a habit of staying around the top of the tank and going over the falls.
Get some eggcrate asap to help prevent any future losses until you can find a more reliable solution.

Chalk it up to experience- so many of us have learned the hard way, believing our fish are different from the those other members have. Well, of course, we're not, and fish jump out of the water in the wild and in tanks. So, get a secure lid (many threads on RC about this topic) and you can write the reply to the next member with a lidless tank and a formerly beautiful fish that is now a dried potato chip on the carpet.
