Very skittish fish

I purchased a male linespot wrasse from LA a couple of months ago, but I hardly see it. It spends all day in a cave only coming out to snag food, then it darts back to its cave. As soon as it sees another fish it darts back.

I added a red firefish after the wrasse and it was mildly chased but it has since settled in and spends all day swimming.
Fish list:
Naked clown
Red firefish
Tomini Tang
Neon Goby
Twinspot Goby
Midas Blenny
Leopard Wrasse
Linespot Wrasse

No one really chases any one around, they keep to their areas. What can I do to entice him to stay out more. He's healthy, but I want to see him more.

If you've had him a couple months and he's still acting like that, he must feel intimidated by another fish or is actually being harassed by another fish. The most likely candidates I think are the Midas blenny and leopard wrasse. Most flashers are very out in front once settled in IME unless they are being harassed. Did you quarantine him? I always hit wrasses with PraziPro in QT before putting them in the display and make sure they're eating aggressively. I also then use an acclimation box for a couple days before cutting them loose as I've learned the hard way with aggression issues before as well as internal parasites.

My melanurus acted like that for prolly a month or so now he swims all over the tank even to places he don't belong like to the nem my clowns host

Melanerus are tough wrasses. I think the leopard and Midas spook him, like they did the red firefish, but not harass...
I did use an acclamation box for about 10 days before releasing it.

Maybe try a chromis or similar dither fish to bring him out? I agree the leopard and midas are likely spooking him due to size or swimming behavior. Hope you get it sorted - linespots are stunners.

I saw my coris wrasse maybe 3 times in 2 months. He recently made an appearance and now he's out all the time.
