Hi there.

I saw these horses at LFS. Is it difficult to care?. Can they share the same DT with damsel, rabbit, clown and yellow wrasse?.

My mandarin is fat, so I know my DT is rich with micro organism. What do sea horses eats?

Sea horses are another level in care then fish and really should never be kept in a reef situation. The flow alone in a reef or FOWLR would kill seahorses. Also most fish are to high tempo for seahorses. Seahorses in your tank would have almost 0 chance of surviving. Now if you wanted to set up a special sea grass tank, then go ahead. There is a very helpful section on reef central with tons of info on sea horses.

Or.....

The quick answer: No

You wouldnt want them to be in a tank with other fish, especially those in the damsel family (semi aggressive fish). Sea horses need to be by themselves simply because they will not get a chance to eat if they are in a tank with other fish.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Okay, not for me than :(

I don't run refugium ever since I switch to denitrator. I will re-commission my refuge once I relocate my chiller outside, maybe I can setup a sea grass tank for nutrient import and for this creatures.

Yup. My first seeing such colorful horses. I used to snorkel around local seasides and the only color I saw is brownish shades. These yellow and orange are very eye catching

3 words son..

Leafy. Sea. Dragon

Dude! They have those at my local aquarium! They're my absolute fave and always make me think of this quote about America from a very good book, except instead of a continent it's dragons:
For a transitory enchanted moment man must have held his breath in the presence of this continent, compelled into an aesthetic contemplation he neither understood nor desired, face to face for the last time in history with something commensurate to his capacity for wonder.

Haha yup.
And the part before it too:
I became aware of the old island here that flowered once for Dutch sailors’ eyes — a fresh, green breast of the new world. Its vanished trees, the trees that had made way for Gatsby’s house, had once pandered in whispers to the last and greatest of all human dreams
Soon the reefs will be vanished, I think, and people will be like doing field trips to the homes of reefers to see a snapshot in somebody's tank of what once was. A glimpse of the island. But it'll just be a few scabby frags pandering in whispers and awakening an expansiveness we don't know what to do with. Like, if you've been to Long Island, NY, lately it ain't exactly commensurate to your capacity for wonder :p
