very weird mutant pe palys

ok ive posted these on other threads. anyone have any insight as to why this is happening to them or whats happening to them
fragged off this little piece from the mother colony a month or so ago. Now they are turning crazy with multiple layer skirts...
Is this some strange stuff of what?

Looks like irritated polyps from pH, ALK/DKH or salinity.

well i have about 30 other zoa colonies in my tank and they are all fine. everything but these

That is a new one on me in concern to polyps.

have you been playing with your mag lately out of curiousity??

nope ... havent dosed anything for mag (or anything else for that matter)
these are in a tank with at least 6 different frags of darth mauls whom are doing great and we know how fickle those can be and numerous other colonies of palys and zoos all of which are fine.
the mother colony has not changed, just this frag.
over the past week ive noticed they dont close and will no longer feed (use to feed them mysis). Ive poked at them and I think they have lost the ability to close as there is no response at all to touching.

do you run any carbon/resin for like a phos reactor or denitrator?
