VHO Bulbs

Why are these bulbs so hard to find? My tank is starting to change ( for the worst) and I strongly think that it is my 4 VHO bulbs. They are a little over 14 months old, and I have been told that even though the light is still bright, the bulbs should be changed every 6 to 8 months. When I go to find these bulbs, they are nowhere to be found and LFS all talk about doing a special order to get them. Is this the norm for getting VHO bulbs?
Is using this bulb becoming a thing of the past or is it still a great lighting source for a reef tank?

I haven't found anywhere that sells lamps in general that doesn't carry VHO's???? Where are you looking?

You won't have to change the actinics if you can't afford to(just for looks), but new actinics will make the tank look better.

They'll be hard to find from normal pet stores and normal LFSes. But they're everywhere online.

I've ordered something from each of these vendors and haven't been let down. Except that I keep on finding packaging peanuts all over the place from Marine Depot :rolleye1: (please MD, use those air pillow things Amazon and premium aquatics uses...my vacuum cleaner will thank you!)

etc

Got mine from marine depot for cheaper the drs foster and smith they also have more sizes. Drs fosters and smith do not have 46.5''. Made the mistake of buying 48'' bulbs the first time
