vho & canopy

Kigs

In Memoriam
I recently bought an AGA 30'' oak canopy, and I'm planning to put my VHOs in them. They are URI 10k daylight (2) and URI actinic (2). The thickness of the oak is about 3/4''.

I heard that it is unsafe to put a vho in them, and it might burn up the top of the canopy. Would it be safe to drill my reflector in them?

currently, I have them drilled into some p.o.c. plywood canopy (going for a year) and it's been fine...but I just wanted to make sure.

If you're that worried, try screwing your canopy into a strip of wood of some sort that has been screwed into your canopy. Then you can have a fan blowing between your canopy and the reflector.
