vho vrs t5 ho

i have an ice cap 660 that's driving 4 110w vho's. i keep seeing all these new t5 lights coming out, what is better?

T5s!!! Plus with the 660, that will overdrive the standard 54w t5 to 85w. T5s are amazing. I have 8 t5s over my 75 SPS tank and it's great. Alot of all SPS tanks out there going t5 these days! GL

can i get a kit to run like 6 t5s on a icecap 660 balast?

icecap ballasts only run up to 4 bulbs. 6 bulbs = 2 ballasts

Just my opinion and I am new to reefs but I think the vho's lighting looks better than the t5's.

I like the T-5's myself but just upgraded to MH and like that better.

I just took my canopy up to Dan at salty critter It was running 4 VHO's and he wired it up for 4 T5's I am a big fan of the T5's!

Its still a new thing to me but I think I like the MH better.
I can see more colors of the corals and it looks a bit cleaner too.

about how much did it cost to have wired + bulbs?

I wanna say it was around $400

I got the 4 Giesman bulbs (2 white 2 atinic), sockets, ballast, wiring kit, nice refelctors, and they wired it for me right there in the store.
