my tank is ten gallons and i saw 30 watt 18inch VHOs on hellolights ... honestly, i think my 96 watt is not bright and might be faulty, but i've never seen any other tanks with it, albeit, the pictures on this sight ... and it is very dusky blue ... why aren't VHOs more popular >?

What size tank are you considering as a nano? I have a 40 gallon tank and some people consider that a nano, to which I run VHOs on.
I am building a nano myself 7 gallons. And I am wondering how I am going to light it. I thought how about VHO, nope. There is not a VHO bulb that is short enough (9 in) to put over my tank that is the right wattage that I want.
Well, you know opinions are like a**holes. Kidding. Yea, you are probably closer to being right according to nanoreef.com I'm anxious to get my 5gl Minibow going. I have a 1" in back wall for drain to sump and a 1/2" return. I am connecting it to the existing fuge/sump on my 20cube. I think I will be going with the Coralife 12" 36wt and keep yumas and a piece of rockOriginally posted by israelnajar
Yea I know. My opinion is Anything under 5 is pico and anything over 5 upto 30 is nano.
