My Ocellaris pair spawned 7 days prior and now the eggs are ready to hatch! This video was taken just before I turned off the lights and within an hour, they were hatching. Notice how attentive the male (black/white) is to the eggs, constantly fanning and blowing water on them to keep them aerated.

Before the mods come flocking in on this... Please keep all commercial requests to pm and not in public forums or this thread will get shut down. :smokin:

Very nice video and beautiful "inter-racial" couple!!! :D Have you raised any fry previous to this? Just wondering what you are seeing for resultant fry coloration.

Sweet:smokin: Let's see some more after they hatch.

All the eggs hatched that night and the size of the fry from this hatch seemed to be a little bigger than the few in the past. That was a good sign! But my rotifer culture was going slowly and adding as much as I could to their nursery. Outcome is about 40 fry making it to day 18.

They went through metamorphisis nicely and was wonderful to see how they have evolved over the days. You can see that most have their first complete stripe and some are working on their second.

Not sure at this point of their coloration with their parents being mixed. I'm anxious to see how the coloring turns out!

what kind of flow do you have going in that tank? airstone?

The eggs are laid on a tile in the main reef tank with plenty of flow from all kinds of pumps and powerheads. The night of the hatch, I transfer the tile to the nursery tank where I have an airstone gently flowing under the eggs. After they hatch, I continue aerating the nursery tank with an airstone.

very nice. please keep posting those nice videos. i'm interested to see how they're colored too! (i have the same type of pair)

The fry are now at Day 29 and some are starting on their 3rd stripe. All are doing very well and seem to be growing a little bigger each day. They are now eating the second stage of Otohime and an occasional treat of baby brine shrimp. When I add the bbs, they are gone in a matter of minutes. It's like a feeding frenzy in the tank.

I have since had two more hatches since this one and another clutch of eggs are on the tile now. I finally have a hand on producing enought rotifers and it definitely has made a difference in the survival rate.

Will keep you posted on more progress!
