Thanks I see you have zoos in your tank description. Is that what is stopping you from adding a emp? You may get away with it if you get a juvi. The risk is 50/50.

While zoanthids/frogspawn is a concern I think it's more of a size issue. A 180g is a fairly big tank but an Emperor Angel is a fairly huge fish. Most sites list them as getting to around 15" or so and I just can't imagine a fish even close to that size in my tank. Holding a tape measure up to the tank makes me feel that more than 6" is too big even. I've been overly cautious with my tank so far though so I haven't ruled anything out, it just doesn't seem like the right thing to do.
 
I love my sand..but ya I agree with the crap build up when you siphon.

Whats the dimensions of your tank and did you make a special attachment to siphon out the stuff?

Yes it is a Clown Tang. Gets along fine with my other tangs.

There is a delay on the page after that it says "Download File" You then can start the download.

I feed 6-7 sheets of high quality seaweed sheets a day. I feed mysis, photoplankton, Angel fourmula, cyclops, flake.


Tank is 300g dual pane Starphire. Built in wall room divider to separate the living room and dining room.

Sump and all pumps in basement. Running 2 CL. One with a Seq Hammerhead outputting to a OM 4-way with all 1.5" outputs. Second CL is a Gen-X PCX-55Hp pump driving 2 penductors. Return pump is a Gen-X PCX-40 in basement with 1.5" pipping. Sump is 75g with YES A WET DRY for added filtration. Skimmer is a 42.5" tall 8" dia dual Beckett driving the beast are 2 Gen-X PCX40's one for each injector. I run a 40w UV with a very slow flow rate around 400g/hr. I run a ozone gen 250mg/hr I keep the ORP within 380-415mv. For lighting I run 3 250W 14K coralVue pendents and bulbs. IceCap 660 ballast driving 4 48" URI actinic plus VHO's. I do 50g water changes every 2-4 Weeks. Dose with kalk and add mg and Ca.

Nitrates are 10-15ppm.
