For the first 3-4 days I didn't try to move to much in front of the tank, now I figured I would start doing some maintenance and hanging in front of the tank a bit more. They are coming out now a bit more when I'm there and I have been feeding them cyclop-eeze and mysis 2-3 times a day and now added fresh rinsed baby brineshrimp. They are starting to chase each other a little bit so I think the pecking order is starting....of course she is gonna where the pants...at least that what he's gonna let her believe....lol.

To be honest I didn't QT at all, with some advice on here and a friend of mine that is into marine fish, clownfish specifically. The place I bought these from had them for 5 weeks so the stress of the initial shipment from the Maldives to wholesaler should have disappeared and were settled at the place I bought them. I have been told that these fish are fragile to shipping and that they would be better served to have them into the most stable conditions as soon as possible. They are the only fish in the tank other then a psudochromis so they don't have any stress as far as competing with other territorial fish. I had a Scopas tang in there but I removed him to another tank for awhile till these settle in and he forgets where he came from. Was it a risk? Yes, but I thought it out before hand so I knew the consequences and so far it was a good risk, no signs of disease or parasites, issues of any sort other then them being pigs.

Putting the fish into a fully cycled marine tank with no other fish is actually quarantine, not sure where folks get the idea "QT" is some barebottom hospital set up

The only deviation in your example is the pseudochromis, frankly I would have done exactly what you did knowing there is a chance I might have to move the clowns into a treatment tank.

Personally, I keep an 80gal system fishless for just such an established QT process.

Wishing you continued luck with them, they are definitely one of my favorite species.

They seem to be flicking and flashing infront and at each other, with a little bit of chase me here, I chase you there type thing....I really like them, well worth the price paid I think...Since I saw the first ones about 3 years ago they have been my favorite clownfish.

Thanks m8....I used to have a purple tang like in your avatar, but he started to like my clams mantles....It was most unfortunate that was one of my favorite fish...Minnesota Vikings colors..

No,
They seem to be more interested in the Bubble coral then anything else. I might after awhile and get a better suitable home for them....I have the lights to do it just not the cash yet....

watch the bubble coral, they dont host very well. I have one that is still trying to recover from a maroon clown I had over a year ago.

The maroon I traded in was really ruff on my rose anemone....It is now just starting to recover from her...I have never seen a fish be so ruff to an anemone before. Yea they are not really hosting it as much as just hiding behind it or under it. That maroon was messing with it after she about destroyed her rose.I will keep an eye on it though thanks for the heads up....The only good thing as far as that goes is these fish are half to 1/3 the size of the maroon I had.

sweet. I saw a maldive in a LFS here. I wanted to get him, but there was a misbarred clarkii that was calling my name. I think I need to set up some more tanks. too many fish, such little space.

I know my wife would kill me if I set up another tank. I got by with the 2 I have now only because the are in the same stand. Did you buy the A. clarkii?

here are some crappy pics, I am by no means a phtographer. I couldnt pass her up though. I could probably wait another lifetime and not see a pattern like this one again. She is also a much brighter orange. She is kind of faded in these pics as she was just taken out of the bag.

I would like to venture into that realm....I got this book many years ago when I had a pair of spawning clarkiis this book "Conditioning,Spawning and Rearing of Fish with Emphasis on Marine Clownfish" by Frank H. Hoff. It I got it as a gift many years ago from a girlfreind at the time. It was like $80-$90 dollars for it. It has alot of info on breeding up to 1996 anyway. It really is a good book it was the only copy I have ever seen.
