Quick vid of my new A. chrysopterus. Can you guys verify? The little white strip at the top of the tail makes me want to say no but maybe its in the middle of spreading out throughout the rest of the tail as I have seen in other pictures. Fish is approx 3" at this point so it has some growing to do still.

Thanks for watching.

I believe your fish is actually A. allardi. The flesh colored nose and the the v shaped first stripe that widens at the top is indicative of allardi. Also, the white on top of the tail that starts at the caudal peduncle and extends to the tip is characteristic of juvenile allardi. It will gradually turn all white as the fish matures.

Do you know where it came from?
If he came from East Africa / Kenya it's for sure A. allardi
But that's a very nice fish too. I tried for a long time to get a pair of that color but all the ones I could find were more brownish and not as nicely yellow like yours.

Honestly, no idea. It was labeled as a blue stripe at the LFS. I had been looking for something in the clarkii complex for a while and had been leaning towards ordering an allardi from LA or someplace but ended up finding this one. I think its a handsome fish. The dark sides come across really deep brown in person with really orangey-yello fins.
