200 views and no comments... tough crowd.

It has been 3 days since the fragging and they are looking great.. I can no longer see torn flesh.

thanks for the comments hreef and Paul, I really appreciate it. Funny how a few comments make the time and effort to post something worth it. lol

GOOD JOB!
Im glad someone put up a video lol
ive fragged a few nems my self and all grew up fine, i think RC supports natural splitting, which doesnt make a difference since nems dont have a CNS...

thx faisal, I totally agree, not much difference than fragging any of our other corals.. none of which have a central nervous system.

I just fragged mine tonight...it is actually really easy, and really amazing how they pinch together and bubble up again like nothing happened.

yeah, I was very impressed with how quickly both were open. I will definitely do this again and again.

I can't help but think that fragging them also makes them even more hardy similar to aquacultured corals.

Here are the two I fragged in this thread...they are pretty much healed now.

I touched this one right before the pic so it would close and I could capture the cut area that is now healed:

and the other..

thank you both, I appreciate the comments, fragging bubble tip anemones is much easier than I ever imagined

Hi, I am new so I hope you don't mind my questions.

How would the anenome normaly reproduce in the wild?

You refered to "bubble" as her, how could you tell?

How long will it take for the little ones to equal the same size as the one you cut?

Thank you

Great video. It is weird, I have had some anemones that are beyond massive and never split naturally and then some that split every time they get bigger than 5 inches. It is easy to split them and is a fun process. I have done it similarly to how you did, but also on accident by dropping a rock on one...

Thanks for the video!

Question: I've never had nems but dont they attach firmly to the substrate? If so, how do you remove them to perform "surgery"?

Change the flow in your tank and when they are on the move scoop them up. Sometimes I will wait weeks to catch one on the move. When they hit glass or acrylic just slide an ID or credit card under them slowly to get them off.
