I'm lucky they do this like clockwork on weekends or I'd never see it in progress.



Only until I viewed this video did I realize how viciously these particular fish yank the anemones tentacles during spawning.
It's also the first time I saw the male's tube extended.
This video also allows you to see the kind of water flow around my gigantea anemone.

while I'm posting these pix the male fish has gone back over the clutch to re-fertilize the eggs. I've never seen that before.

nice Gary, great job capturing them in the act! Like you said above, it is a great documentation of the water flow around your gigantea, that by itself should be helpful to many aquarists!

these fish have been spawning for a little over a month now. This documents their third spawning. I've not raised any of their offspring.

eyes and yolk sacs are clearly visible inside each egg. (Compare them to the bright orange coloration of the eggs when first laid.)

no. Maybe someday I'll get back into raising Clownfish but it's not in my gameplan right now.

I'd like to get a closer shot of the larvae developing inside the eggs, but this is about as good as it gets with my current camera.

My Emperor Angelfish has been eating eggs whenever they're left unattended. Tonight and/or tomorrow night most of these eggs will hatch.
