Video showing Vortech water movement

Fish?
I was searching for videos of different Anthias on YouTube and came accross this video. It's a beautiful reef with some gorgeous fish and furthermore, you can see two vortechs, one at each end of the tank. I found it quite fascinating how the fish move back and forth with the change of the current.

jeez,Are those two more Vortechs on the back wall?? I wish I could afford one let alone four lol

Vortech's really do work well........ I hate to spoil this a little though, I see a big Tunze wavebox in the back right hand corner, I'm actually surprised at the combination of the 2 different styles seemingly working together. I would have assumed that they would clash with each other, somebody must have spent some serious time getting their wave patterns to mash up together. Either way a very nice display with some awesome water movement, oh and awesome Rhomboid, still don't see many of those.

some serious chedder floatin in that tank. 4 vortech and a wave box in a 240 ? looks like it might be rimless tank as well. SD...:lolspin:

I like the video and I love Vortechs but I don't like the wave pattern in that video. Water rocking back and forth doesn't do a thing for me.

Mike- didn't you post another Vortech/water movement video last week?

I like that one better. (I think it was Jake Adams tank ................?)

Hmmm... I don't think it was me who posted the other video.

I agree with you, Gary, about the water rocking back and forth. However, that's not what I find interesting. What I find interesting is what's happening underneath the water's surface. I really found it cool to watch the part where the anthias was trying to stay in one place but was being shifted back and forth. You can also see this demonstrated by the Elegance in the bottom left corner of the tank.

I'm obsessed with finding a way to incorporate waterflow in my tank that has some rhyme and reason. Not just a couple returns and powerheads that blow water in each and every dirrection.

I'm also trying to achieve waterflow that disturbs my sand bed without displacing my sandbed.

here's that video I was referring to earlier. Nice music, too.
