Videos & photos - Dive in Kauai

I went diving in Kauai last week. These were my first dives after my OW certification (in Monterey ! ) . Dove with Fathom Five divers and my DM was Mike. Awesome shop, and amazing service from Mike.

I ended up doing 8 dives with them (4days, 2 tanks each). All shore dives. I went on a boat but got sea sick and had a new mask I was not comfortable with (lost all my gear the 2nd day and had to buy everything :( ). So ended up calling the dive after being in the water for about 3-5 minutes.

We ended up taking a lot of video. All these videos are either shot by the DM (steady hand :D ) or by me (shaky hand :D ). These are done using a GoPro Hero 3, black edition with a backscatter Flip 3.0 red filter.

I'll use this thread to post up videos (should have about 4) and pictures from the various dives or ankle deep beach water. Will take time to edit them, so will keep adding more during the week or next week :D

PS: watch in full screen, in 1080 HD

This was day 1 of the dives. We were lucky enough to see a spotted eagle ray. Could not get close to it, but it circled us twice.

Here's another short video, north shore. Tunnels, Turtle cleaning station.

Still have more editing to do on other videos :)

Jealous .... We love Hawaii.
Kaui is our favorite island and Tunnels is one of our favorite beachs ... can't wait to go back.

Thanks for sharing.

P.S. - I can empathize with you ... I get seasick, too ... not fun at all. Last time was on a 5hr tour of the Napali Coast ... all I saw for 5hrs was the bottom of a blue bucket .... :sad2:

Here's one more. I've been completely lazy in editing and creating more of the footage I have :o
