In this URL, they talked about vinegar dosing:

This table seems to tell the amount (in ml) to dose PER day, right?

So, say if I have a 100 Gallon of water volume, to start, I should use 3.2ml for day 1-3, then 6.4ml for day 4-7.

Why does he say "Start with using 15ml vinegar per 100 gallons of water volume..."?

15ml is week 3 according to the tablet, isn't it?

I hope I am not being stupid.

If I remember correctly, in the thread where OP is talking about vinegar dosing, they said they basically skipped the first 3 weeks of ramping up, and started at 15ml with no problem.

(I'm using this same table in dosing my tank)

Yes, that chart is a very cautious suggestion, not an exact template to follow. In Randy's original article he says he started with 15ml /100g, then raised up to 30ml and stopped at 45ml. Far from the 17 tiny steps in the chart.

The procedure is to add a little vinegar, then slowly ramp it up over a few months watching carefully for any problems, and at the same time monitoring nutrient levels to assess the effectiveness. The chart just suggests a breakdown on a cautious approach to that process.

Here's the real link; http://reefkeeping.com/joomla/index...ar-dosing-methodology-for-the-marine-aquarium

It appears to be the same article as linked here, http://www.reefland.com/2013/02/13/treating-your-marine-aquarium-with-vinegar-dosing/

Except that "saltwater guy" copied it and attached his name and removed the orignial author's names. Not sure if that was an attempt at plagiarism/theft, or just a byproduct of how the article was copied and re-posted, but either way it makes it a little confusing (if you care at all who's work you are actually reading)

Yeah, I knew that chart was familiar.

I remember following the reefkeeping regimen for vodka and the dosing started out low just like that as well. The reason was to try and fit every tank scenario into it and still have positive results. What you don't want is a cloudy tank from dosing and building up a tolerance slowly is key.

If you did 15 ml to start off with, you'll be ok, but if you want to be cautious, you an start lower and work your way up.

Right, following that chart could be just a waste of time. I will skip to week 3 to start at 15ml per 100 gallon per day.
