Well I am very new to the hobby. I have never owned a tank before so this is a first to me. I have been interested in a long time. Thanks to good ol craigslist I got a really good deal on a 125 gallon acrylic tank. I just had to buff it out and clean it up a bit and its like brand new. Because I do not have the tools and have never built one I had a custom stand from R&J built. The dimensions on the tank are 72"x18"x20". Finally after nearly 2 months the Stand finally arrived today so I can get going on it. The finish on it is a little dark for me (walnut) so I am looking at painting it a cream white color. Here is what it looks like today. The tank originally had 3" holes that were drilled on the side. Well I wanted a cleaner look with everything coming out the back so I ended up covering up the holes with acrylic pieces. I also had a custom overflow box built which I just installed on the back of the tank. It is killer and was made by Tx Holley Rocks. Minimal space on the inside of tank and everything hidden is what I am going for and the low profile overflow box had helped.

So for the build I have already purchased the following

T5 Quad 60" 5 ft Aquarium Light that has 10 bulbs.
Skimz SC165i Protein Skimmer
2xCOBALT MJ1200 POWERHEAD

I am getting:
Petco 55B tank to be used as sump
Sump kit that will have everything to turn the 55 aquarium into a sump with refugium
Jebao DCT 12000 return pump
2xJebao PP15 power heads

I just put two pp15's on my 125 can't turn it up all the way or the wave it creates topples the side of the tank

I was going to go with the gyre 150 but budget wise the Jebao's should be really good. I saw some videos of them in action and agreed they do have some power. Good thing you can turn them down.
