Hello All,

I'm planning a trip out to FL early next year.. FEB/MARCH... I have no knowledge about FL... but wanted to take my dad out on a ocean fishing trip. My Dad, Brother and I will be visiting.. While I'm there, I'd like to see the Florida Keys and possibly snorkel and see some reefs.

Any locals know if they offer boats where you can pay to go fish out in the ocean for a few hours or so? What are some good cities to visit while down there? I will be staying roughly 1 week down there.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh when does hurricane season end? or Best time to visit South Florida..

Sam

I would come down to Miami and go deep sea fishing. If I am not mistaken that is one of the best time of the year for swordfish. At the Miami beach marina there is a boat called bouncer that is supposed to be really good, everybody says he puts you on the fish everytime.

The captains name is Bouncer Smith, boat is called Bouncer's Dusky. He is an excellent captain, catches alot of fish and specializes in taking out beginners and making them feel comfortable. Hurricane season USUALLY ends beginning of October but officially runs through November. September is historically the busiest month of the season. Feel free to email me with specific questions about S. FL, would be more than happy to point you in the right direction. I'll be in San Diego in Jan, maybe you can return the favor.

If you come go to miami, here is a boat that I would fish . I use to go to the charter boat docks ever day, and you could not beat this boat, it's called spellbound. http://reeladventurecharters.com/
Captain Jay is a great guy to fish with, as with Bouncer Smith too.
Bouncer Smith is more intense to fish with , and might be hard to book at that time of the year, due to the fishing tournaments . Hurricane season will be long pass at that time of the year, as it ends in Nov. You can PM me for my phone # as I now live in Las Vegas and I can tell you were you can dive right off the beach in Ft Lauderdale , or any other question you might have about the southeast coast of Fl.
