Viva Goby??? see pics...

Hi, I own what the petstore told me was a "Viva Goby" upon looking this fish up on the internet i cannot seem to find a fish that looks like him. Does anyone have any ideas on what this fish actually is...it is definitely a goby, just not sure what species.

never seen that before. kinda looks like a bar goby without the bars. hopefully its not a coldwater species like the catalina goby. Hope someone can ID that for you.

It's crushed coral.

looks like a type of dartfish-- related to the ubiquitous firefish, sometimes called gobies.

I've looked at dartfish, but none of them that I've seen look exact to what I have... the facial pattern on mine is different than what I've seen.

It's a general term for the family. Yours definitely looks like a different species but shares the same overall appearance as grudgeons/dartfish. You should call the store where you got it and ask them for the proper Latin name. It's probably on their invoice from the distributor.
