I would think that would work for a while but once it gets to its full size at 2 feet it might be a little cramped. Maybe strategic aquascaping and water flow might help. I actually have 2 of these for about a year and have grown very fast and have great personalities and are very peaceful to the other inhabitants.
Already stated..but this is the fastest growing fish I have ever seen!
I think the 7 foot sounds really nice, but the 2 foot wide sounds bad. Assuming you have some rock/coral/decor in the tank...and the fish's adult size...you barely have enough room for the fish to orient itself front to back in the tank..
Nope...that 2 foot dimension is too small for a vlamingi.
i had my vlamingi until he got around 12 inches, and i have the same tank, 7 x 2 x 2, he seemed very cramped when he got that size, he found a new home in a 800g.
Thanks everyone!
I hadn't really thought about one but reading through these posts it sounded like something to research.
I wanted to confirm that these fish do grow as quickly as some state (they obviously do).
coryjac0b: I was wondering what you have in your tank (since ours are the same dimensions)?
