Vodka Dosing Questions

Hi ReefCentral!

I just began my Vodka dosing on my 34g 2 days ago. The NO3 levels in the tank were at about 10, PO4 was undetectable.

I understand that you should increase your daily dosage to .2ml after the first 4-7 days. But at what point do you stop dosing, or maintain a stable dose?

When the nitrates hit zero stay at that dose for a little while and then cut back slightly. ive got a 30 cube and my maintanance does is 1.4mill. watch your tank closly to see how things are affected by the dosing and go from there.

If you accidentally dose more than you should one time (.8ml) is something going to be greatly affected?

I didnt start at .1 i started at .5 and i havent noticed anything dramatic, but ive read horror stories about overdoses. At .8 if you didnt see a bacteria bloom you should be okay but just keep up at your normal level. In such small amounts of water things can happen fast. Try not to go to fast it took me months to get to were im at with vodka. I let my tank be my guide and when i hit the sweetspot i knew it.
