Vodka dosing?

Search RC here for rice. Lots of experiments going on using rice as bio pellets and nutrient reduction. Turf algae is also a way to go. There is a caveat to VsV dosing. Some people who have "over dosed" have discovered a white slime starting to grow due to excessive bacterial growth in the tank. Happened to a hobbyist down here in the Springs.

I use vodka for nutrient control. You have to read this article.
I experienced the white slime murfman talks about, it comes from overdosing, you have to find that healthy medium. Not to mention if you dose too much it will promote cyanobacteria.
as for what to dose you start out with less then a mm and work your way up. as for brand, I use the cheapest vodka they sale but all that is outlined in the article.
Vodka is not for the inexperienced, so read and understand before you attempt it.

be very careful not to do too much, i did my first time and lost 2 fish in 2 days
