I have a Black Volitan lion that I have had about a year. A couple of months ago I had a bad outbreak of ick and the Lion was pretty bad. I fixed the ich problem with a UV sterilizer but ever since the Lion has been slow to eat, he will only strike once at food and if he misses he will not eat it. Before he had a very heafty apetite for frozen Silversides and Krill. I have tried feeding live ghost shrimp as well but he still has not eaten in about two weeks. ph 8.3- alk. 4.5 dkh- cal. 400ppm- nitrates 0- nitrites 0- phos. 0- Ammona 0- SG 1.021. He has what I think is fin rot, redness in the tail fin. Other than keeping good water quality I don't know what to do. Can anybody help?

A feeding stick is just a stick that you can attach food to so other fish won't eat the food or to target feed the fish.
I used one when my Map was refusing to eat frozen as I was able to wiggle it to make it look alive without my hands in the tank scaring him esc..
You said that he struck missed then had no interest. It might be worth while to have something there to temp him to eat for when he strikes he won't miss. You can also try to feed him smaller pieces that might help.
A variety of meaty seafoods should be offered. Also how long has it been since he actually has not eaten. (when I wanted my map to eat silversides, which he still does not really like he did not eat for a week and a half).
But also re-reading you said you think he might have fin rot. Are you doing anything for that?
