volitans and puffers

What gives, some people say it is okay, others say no. Some sites say it is okay, people say no. Why aren't lions and puffers good tank mates?

I have seen plenty of tank with both, and no problems.

Puffers are clumsy and curious. They can be envenomated accidentally just trying to navigate the water column, and some just can't resist nipping those flowing fins.

Agreed. I lost a puffed due to its curiousness.

Also, a tank with full grown volitan and a full grown puffer has a tremendous bioload. Think of it like a pooping football and basketball sharing the same space. It takes a ton of room for them to pass each other.

The puffer nipping the lions rays will most likely stress it to death.
