I had a poccilopora that seems to have dropped several polys that re-attached and are forming small colonies. There are several of these small colonies in my display and ever more in my refugium. Is this common?
I just can't imagine that it sexually repoduced, being the only colony of pocci that I had.
I say had because I have since sold it, but I have plenty of it's clones or offspring as the case may be.

Its called Polyp Bailout,Poci's do this.Be careful they can take over they are a very agressive SPS.

I've had that happen too. I call it polyp bailout, form of reproduction. I asked the ? in the SPS forum and was told it's quite common with poccilliporas. From one baseball size colony I've got about 10 new corals growing in a 12" diameter from the mother.
