This is, hopefully, a very temporary setup. Expect to have my Apex back in a few days and will then go back to safe wiring.

I remember when my Apex did this. Took them 2+ weeks to get it back to me. Hope you have faster results!

I have had a fire because of moisture and electricity together, actually, two.
I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't learn from the first time I was lucky enough to catch it in time to put it out (with water from my sump). The second time, I wasn't as lucky. I was lucky enough to save my house, but there was significant damage in my basement.
I eliminated a LOT of extension cords and power strips by hardwiring new outlets where I need them, and EVERYTHING has a drip loop. It's not completely impossible, but I do not expect to have another fire.
