Sorry man, slept in this morning after installing a 220 Gallon reef for a customer all day yesterday.

The Vortech Pre order module is now available on both GHL-Direct (USA) and Progressive Reef (Canadian) at the following links:

GHL Direct
Progressive Reef

Sorry about the delays guys, but you're good to go now!

Gareth

Wow, you guys were chomping at the bit for these controllers, I have had a huge number of orders for these come in already! I will be contacting everyone who has ordered as soon as we have shipping confirmation for stock heading to us!

So here is the next step

1. The order has been placed for the interface with both GHL and Ecotech
2. shipment will leave Germany week 2 of August
3. we receive the shipment week 3
4. we drop ship for PR (GHL direct) day after goods arrive

I think I speak for many of the advanced GHL users when I say this Vortech controller will allow me to control the only piece of equipment in my tank setup that the Profilux was not already controlling.

These controllers should also help with the noise issue. It can't be denied that, while the Vortechs are amazing pumps with great flow patterns and easy maintenance, they are more noisy than any other powerhead I have used. Compared to a Tunze running in the tank, they make a significant amount of noise no matter how well they are cleaned and maintained. I am very much looking forward to being able to use the Profilux to dial down the Vortechs at the times I am home and most likely to notice the noise, and crank them up for some great SPS flow while I am away at work all day.

Just to interject something here, the Vortechs are definately a bit louder then other pumps simply by design, but in many cases if the pumps are getting noisier then they should they might simply need a new maintenance kit or wet side assembly.

We use them all over the store here and we have to regularly service the pumps with new wet side kits, or replace impeller shafts and bearings. This isnt a design fault, its just part of regular maintenance. I'd say that after a year or so there is enough wear on "some" of the parts that the extra friction can cause them to get a bit louder. In a "worst case" scenario I have seen the wet side assembly sieze solid if it hasnt been serviced in a while, or the dry side can start getting really hot if it has to work harder to turn a wet side that is starting to rub.

These are some of my favorite pumps for certain, and I cant wait to see what the added features of the Profilux can do for them!

i would like to hear some of the features...

i am hoping we can switch modes of the vortec by timers or something...

this way you can change the type of wave motion automatically...

matthia had posted on the ghl forums we will be able to turn the ecosmart modes on by profilux...hopefully we will soon find out what amount of flexibility will be in that...

just think..run ecosmart mode for .5 day... wave mode for a few hours and then night mode for the evening...

then every day for 2 hours turn on nutrient transport mode...

cool if we can do it..

Announcement from GHL GmbH

Here some information about the ProfiLux VorTech-Controller:

Shipments will now commence on 7th September.

We are aware that some customers expected an earlier start of sales and some of them already did a prepaid preorder, due to certain circumstances we were forced to delay the first shipment. We ask you for understanding, thanks. In turn you will get an exciting product!

This means GHL will officially release the module at Macna.

With the GHL Vortech controller, can the Vortech eco-smart controller be eliminated? If not, what does the GHL proflux vortech controller add?

Awesome news and GHL, take your time like you always do and get the product out when it is ready. Will take quality over a rushed product any day!
