Vortech setup

Hi
I'm thinking of buying the vortech pump for the battery backup it has.

Can the back side of the pump also be immeresed in water? ie can the whole pump be immersed or it just the impellor section ?

The impellor section ONLY has to be in the water. The rest of the components, power supply, controller, and motor MUST be kept dry and away from moisture as moisture and water damage to these components is not covered under warranty.
