Any update on the Wireless Driver for the Vortech? I used to look in "The Wireless Wave Driver is Coming" thread but it seems that has been closed. I checked the AS website and didn't see any updates. Just curious to see what the latest info on the driver.

Thanks

I too am waiting. It seems like I missed the initial rush when the first batch of wireless drivers (pre-release) went on sale and now I am SOL as they say. I tried to contact Echotech Marine, but they are at the conference and will return next week.

Would EcoTech/AS mind advising re what the FCC issue is? Is it just rubber stamp approval to communicate at the frequency/power level etc. Or is hardware change required? I've paid and plan to stay in line, i.e., not take the refund, but I AM curious as to the nature of the issue.

Thanks, and I LOVE the VorTechs!

Ecotech uses industry standard wireless Protocols they did not manufacture the Wireless components of the WWD. They use industry standard parts that are found in every PDA/Wireless router.

they will indeed be approved i would not worrry as much as people seem to be.

GSMguy's got it right. I should have an actual update regarding what's going on with testing by middle of this week.

Tim Thanks for the Demo i should have introduced myself. it was nice talking with you. Ecotech had the best booth at Macna, i have heard that from lots of people there, and i agree.

GMSguy-

You definitely should have introduced yourself! I just read that you came by our booth but I don't have a recollection of meeting you.

Thank you very much for your kind words about our booth. We have put a ton of blood sweat and tears into every aspect of MACNA, from the graphic design and display to the wireless wave driver itself. Hearing your and everyone else's praises was one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives.

We are really looking forward to shipping these units and satisfying our customer's desires for the new driver.

I am sooo totally stoked. I just bought two more Vortechs yesterday. :) Knowing Scott's service, I'll bet he's got 'em all boxed up and ready to hit the road! :)

David,

Wow! that's awesome! Didn't you have two already? You gonna have lot's of flow...way more than the 8miles movie...lol!

Tim,

It was great meeting you guys at MACNA. The demos of the WWD had me really excited.

What surprised me the most, and this is kinda odd, was how young you guys are. Keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll do great things.

I'm glad to hear it is just an approval and not a change causing the delay. Now I just want my three and the ability to order one more.

Hey bro, I'm just accumulating equipment this month. Lots of stuff from Jesse, AS and a new light. Are you running VT's on the 160XL? I get great flow but want to make sure that with our size tank, I can get that wave action going. Hopefully I can get this build complete soon!

Dave,

Not currently running VT as of yet...I'm really considering it now. Can't wait to see your tank complete. I'm still using the 4 6100's...I have lots of flow but I have to throttle all of them a bit to minimize sand storm.

When my son saw how young Tim was, it made him think hard about going to college again. And that is a very good thing!

That is very true Marc. I my self am 28 and chose not to go to college. I was lucky enough to get into an industry as an apprentice and have learned alot. But when something goes wrong at work and you know how to solve it but they dont listen to you b/c you dont have a degree, so insted the take the word of the 21yr old intern that hasnt even graduated yet. And then have to do it the original way i suggested only b/c of my experience with the situation. Fact is your not even listened to these days with out a degree. Ok im done rambling.

Hey Tim: Very nice meeting you at MACNA. Your booth was definitely among the best of show.

OK, so how do I put my order in for the updated Vortech controller units? I assume that this is the thread that you were talking to me about at MACNA? Thanks,

Steve
