Walk me thru a saddle vavle install!?!

make sure the valve is completly open and that the self piercing tip is completely recessed. make sure the gascket is in its propper place. clamp it to a pipe. if the pipe is horizontal. place the valve between 10-3 o'clock so as not to collect sediment from the bottom of the pipe. i like to loosen the compression nut a little. then tighten the valve all the way until it pierces the pipe. then retighten the compression nut and open the valve. water will come out if connected correctly.

With the water shut off, unscrew the T until the pointed end is inside the valve body.Put the clamp around the pipe, I assume its copper, and tighten the screws just enough to compress the rubber seal. Attach your tubing to the fitting and run to the desired location. Slowly turn the T to pierce the pipe. Turn on the water just a little at first and check for leaks. If you need to tighten the screws to get a seal, tighten both screws evenly and just until the leak stops. If the pipe is not copper, you will need to drill a small hole in the pipe first.

Heres 2 pics of hookup. THe first shows how its put around the pipe, the second shows the RO/DI hookup.

if you dont shut off your water and drain the lines first. i suggest that you attach your water line to the valve body before tightening the valve to pierce the pipe. you will stay dry.

OK thanks all. I was unclear in the 1/4" tube to compression nut fitting.

comp.nut on 1/4" tube then comp. collar over 1/4" tube with the insert inside 1/4" tube -screw together. Like poppin_fresh, correct?
