In my tank now:

2 - Regal Tangs
1 - Japanesse Swallowtail Angel
3 - perc clowns
1 - GBTA
5 - medium sized Chromis
1 - six line Wrasse
1- golden headed sleeper goby

I want to add one more Tang even if I have to take out the Chromis. I have researched for a while and just can't make up my mind. I want a Tang that will not grow hugh as some, and will get a long with my two regals.

I would like some advice from anyone that has kept three or more tangs on what to get.

I have looked at the "brown powder", "purple", "Tomilli", and more......

Any advice appreciated......Of course this addition will be after my new skimmer is installed.....

With what you have currently, I would go with the powder brown. I think they have great color contrast especially with your two blues already.

I habe both a powder browna nd the purple. the browns can be a bit more succeptable to Diesease, but with a healthy specimen and healthy tank, they do great. I love my brown and lov hte color contrast. very very engergetic fish. much more so than my purple. I have had the purple for a few years and then added the brown this summer and barely had any issues in my 75 with the two of them. the brown is very well behaved and eats like a HOG. the brown seems to be more active and picking at the rocks than the purple who is just plain lazy...

My vote would be for a PBT also, love them! And not every one has them. Very pretty in person, more so than pics I have seen of them.

Starting to lean toward Powder Brown....smiling

A Flame Fin Tomini Tang would be a nice choice! I got one for my tank and it's a beautiful fish!!! I'm not sure how nice your Regals are, but mine is a total bully. At least yours doesn't chase after your Goby, mine does.....

Hey, guy!
We love our Powder Blue tang--he is gorgeous! We also have "Dori." He should do fine with your dori's since he will be introduced AFTER them.

It varies from fish to fish, can't be sure on that part!!! All my other fish were introduced after the Dori and she terrifies them to death, they all scatter when she comes swimmin'. At least the ones I have now can take care of themselves better, unlike the Anthias she killed. She's one of my favorite fish, but if she keeps this up and kill another one, she's gotta go.....

Wow! Really? Our "Dori" is scared of her shadow! She never bothers anyone. THese fish are funny! But I think that, in general, the hippo tangs are supposed to be peaceful and skittish. The powder blues can be a little aggressive, though, I think.

In a tank that small with three tangs, I watch nutrient levels and think of upgrading at some point in the somewhat near future. Fishdoc's regal was huge in his 90... Hate to sound like the tang police...

Robert still has some time before those tangs grows bigger, they're not that big right now. He have talked about finding them a newer home once they grow bigger. :)

Yea, I have to get a bigger house if I want a bigger tank....

I plan on giving my Tangs to the ST. Jude's tank or maybe the Nashville Zoo when they out grow my 90. The two regals I have now are about 3.5'' and 3''. They got a ways to go. If they show any type of stress I will be getting new smaller ones.....

:bum:
