Want streams but worried about tank size?

Roger,

I have a 58gal Oceanic 36x18x21 and I was going to do a closed loop with a Mag 12(1200gph) but I really want some streams. I was going to get the 2x6000 and multicontroller and turn them down if I have to but now I am worried about the space they will take up. Any suggestions? Are you planning on making smaller streams :) ?

Also I was thinking about mounting them with the magnets as the tank has a brace.

We have some new products in the works but I can't discuss them at this point in time. If you wait a year we will probably have some other solutions. Right now I think one 6000 would be fine, you don't need 2 in that size tank, the bounce back from the pulsing flow should be sufficient. The only concerns I would have is the plate being buried in sand and the anemone possibly getting sucked in. The anemone looks like an LTA and they usually hold tight, the other problem comes down to pump positioning.

The anenome is a sebae and though he is big he stays put. That is ashame that the new stuff is so hush hush. WHere would you reccomend putting the single 6000? In the middle? Should I still get the magnet? The only other flow would be a 400gph return from sump that went to a seaswirl in the middle but that might change.

I think they are easy enough to moun on Oceanic tanks without canopy using the included holder. I would mount it in the back corner on the side without the anemone and aim it to the opposite front corner.

I am sorry but you can imagine our competition would like to know too and we like to keep them well behind us.

I just read about the price increces in Sept. and I was looking at the 6000 Kit with the single controller but I was thinking that the multi controller with one 6000 for now might be a better idea.
The kit with the 2 6000 is only a $20 break so I will not be upset if I add another stream or other tunze. Any thoughts?

Also are the brown tunzes still around, should I call MD and make sure I do not recieve one?

The last shipment for example, I got over 100 6000 Streams, I opened one to see what color they were. It was black but as they have told me they will be making brown pumps until every last brown piece is gone and all the brown plastic is used up. It is still possible they are out their and the only way to know is open the box. Their is no reason you can't get the multicontroller and one pump. I know all the 6080's and 6200's I have are brown still.

Called Marine Depot and asked for the black 6000 and the multicontroller. Should be here on Monday. The nice thing about the 6000 is that I can turn down the sump return and the euroreef will work better and there will be a lot less bubbles.
